Morgan's boyfriend, Flynn, was involved in a hit-and-run. She was told he was dead, but when she uploads a photo to FriendShare, it's facial recognition tags Evan Murphy. Morgan is now grieving her boyfriend's death while also trying to track down Evan to see if Evan is Murphy. But what happens when she uncovers Flynn's secret life and is putting herself and everyone she knows at risk?

Goodreads readers ranked this book a 3.80 and I'd recommend it if you're into:

  • crime

  • law/legal

  • (attempted) murder

  • death/grief

  • conspiracy theories

Pros: The suspense of this book - always looking behind you and around the corner - makes this such an easy read. I was propelled not only by the suspenseful story line, but by the the basic writing. I never felt "exhausted" mentally from reading. I was able to read this in one sitting of just a few hours. Despite the duplicate names for characters or the unknown characters that intertwined in-and-out of things, it was fairly easy to keep track of the characters (which will make more sense if you dive into this one). The ending was interesting - it satisfied the happy ending, it satisfied the realistic-fantasy.

Cons: Yet again, another editor error when a grammar issue crept in (although, I'll be honest, I didn't remember this one, but I had made a note about it). The ending, while a positive, was also a negative. It felt very fairy-tale, so to speak. If you wanted the ending to happen the way it did, then it was a positive (and I secretly wanted it to end similarly). However, that being said, I also felt it was too fairy tale. Maybe it's the cynic in me, maybe it just felt too good, but it wasn't quite the ending I think I was expecting.
